A few of the girls decided to go to sushi one Friday night. We decided to go to Banzai Sushi located at
Banzai was one of my favorite sushi joints in
My husband and I used to go to Banzai every few months when we had the Jones for the “Hotshot Roll.” Several times the cute owner of Banzai would even sit at our table with us and ask how our sushi was. It was a delight and this kind of attention rarely happens in the era of the chain restaurant. So personally, when I went with the girls last month I felt ripped off by our server. I don’t like being a negative reviewer. For me to write this the experience was truly bad and this is very hard to write. Banzai, you need new servers and more of them on a Friday night! After all this, I would still recommend trying Banzai because their nitro rolls are excellent. My advice would be to try take out, stopping by a liquor store, and buying a large bottle of sake to take home.

I agree with Jenny. Super horrible service. I loved the variety of rolls and extensive menu, but I don't think I would go back there either. Take-out is a good suggestion however, and maybe I'll do that sometime with my daughter Abby..... the sushi lover that she is.
I had not been to Banzai for a couple of years but my memory was that I enjoyed this restaurant and it boasts a long list of tasty rolls. After this dinner, however, I truly don't plan to go back. The Dynamite was way overcooked -- it had no "sauce" and actually tasted burnt. We had to ask where the dynamite was and it still took a long time to get to the table - I imagine it must have been forgotten... With so many good sushi restaurants in this land-locked town, I'd rather venture on than return. Next!
Banzai...
So sad...because, other than that Dynamite thing, most of the food was utterly fantastic.
Except (and I don't remember what it was) they had run out of some "special" that Rhonda and I were going to have and never told us until we were asking what all the sushi on the plate was and there was some roll that both Rhonda and I agreed was pretty "fishy" tasting.
(Yeah, I have notes somewhere but really...)
The service was absolutely atrocious.
It was busy, but Friday night, sushi joint, please...figure it out.
See, I don't need my notes cause I have no intention of going back...there are too many other great sushi joints in this town...thank you Samshimi, God of Fish!
xoang.
